Dance Costumes
This page showcases a selection of Amanda Terzian’s dance costume designs. Each piece is designed and embellished by Amanda, ranging from customized premade bases to fully custom designs created in collaboration with a seamstress. Her most recent work showcases complete costumes, entirely designed and constructed by Amanda, from concept to completion.

ECHO
Amanda Terzian created Echo as an eveningwear collection for her Visual Design Concepts III course at FIT. The line is inspired by the visual qualities of glass, mirrors, and reflection, exploring how light interacts with light and color. Featuring beading, and subtle sparkle to incorporate movement and capture light, reinforcing the concept of echo and repetition.
Jacket and Asymetrial Shorts Set
Amanda Terzian created this look as part of her third semester atternmaking course at FIT, creating a full look in muslin utilizing what she learned in class. The set features a cropped, low-cut jacket with an open back, secured by a strap and buckle closure that emphasizes structure and adjustability. The bottom features mini shorts with an asymmetrical overskirt and a strap. This project incorporates design, patternmaking, illustration, and construction.
Shawl Collar Polar Fleece Jacket
This project was created in Amanda’s third semester draping class at FIT. This jacket features a shawl collar, slit sleeves, and a belt. Made from warm polar fleece, it is fully lined and faced, offering both comfort and versatility for a range of looks.
Warm and Cozy
Warm and Cozy is a project created by Amanda Terzian for her Digital Design: Flats and Floats course during her third semester at FIT. Inspired by a warm cabin in the snow, the project draws from elements of warmth and comfort. The collection features detailed flats and technical spec sheets, highlighting garment construction and functional design.
Another World
Amanda Terzian created Another World as a lifestyle-focused collection inspired by her home beach town. The collection explores the feeling of crossing from the mainland into a place that feels like a different world. The collection features beachy, fun pieces that seamlessly transition from daytime activities like shopping to evening dinners. From locals to vacationers, this collection is perfect for anyone at the shore.
Lilac Sun
Lilac Sun is a project created by Amanda Terzian for her Digital Design: Flats and Specs course midterm during her third semester at FIT. Inspired by summer beach towns and coastal life, the project features flats and technical spec sheets.
Sheer Slit Pants
This piece was designed and created for Amanda’s second semester Soft Draping class, combining draping and pattern making techniques. Made from sheer cotton gauze, the pants feature a half elastic waist with a front tie bow and a full-length leg slit. Perfect lightweight cover-up over a swimsuit.
Tailored Wool Jacket
This project features a lined wool jacket constructed by Amanda Terzian during her second semester at FIT in the Materials and Construction II course.
In The Mist
In the Midst is a fashion illustration project created by Amanda Terzian in her Visual Design Concepts II class at FIT. The collection draws inspiration from rain and hazy skies. The collection uses sheer fabrics, fluid silhouettes, and moments of contrast to capture how form and color emerge and intensify within dull skies.
Serene State
Serene State is a project created by Amanda Terzian for the Visual Design Concepts II course midterm at FIT. Inspired by the idea of a tropical hideaway, the project explores relaxed silhouettes, vibrant colors, and lightweight materials suited for warm weather. This collection emphasizes a relaxed, tropical inspired aesthetic.
